Death toll in Gaza rises to 52,000, territory’s health ministry says, as Israel continues offensive

Palestinian officials said the War in Gaza He has killed more than 52,000 people, since Israel continues its renewed offensive in the territory after finishing its high fire with Hamas in March.

The general toll of 52,243 includes almost 700 bodies for which the documentation process was recently completed, said the Hamas-Direct Ministry of Health in its latest update. It occurs after the hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the remains of 51 Palestinians in the last 24 hours, which were killed in Israeli strikes.

Israel ended its fire. With Hamas launching a surprise bombing in the territory on March 18 and since then has carried out daily strike waves. The land forces have expanded a damping zone and have surrounded Rafah’s southern city, and now control around 50% of the territory.

Israel has also sealed the 2 million Palestinians from the territory of all imports, including food and medicine, for almost 60 days. Help groups say that supplies will soon be exhausted and that thousands of thousands of Children are malnourished.

The Palestinians now live mainly in canned vegetables, rice, pasta and lentils. Meat, milk, cheese and fruit have disappeared. Bread and eggs are scarce. The few vegetables or other items in the market have fired in price, unavailable to most.

“We can get anything that provides proteins or nutrients,” said Mariam al-Najjar.

Israeli authorities say that the offensive and adjusted blocking renewed is aimed at Hamas pressure to release hostages kidnapped in their October 7, 2023, an attack that triggered war. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised to continue the war until Hamas is destroyed or disarmed, and all hostages are returned.

The militants led by Hamas killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, in the attack of October 7 and the 251 people as hostages. The majority since then have been published in high the fire or other agreements.

The Gaza Ministry of Health, which is controlled by Hamas, says that women and children constitute most of the Palestinian deaths, but does not say how many were militants or civilians. He says that another 117,600 people have injured in the war.

Israel says he has killed about 20,000 militants, without providing evidence. The army says that he tries to avoid damaging civilians and blames Hamas for their deaths because militants operate in densely populated areas.
