The cuts affected an un specified number of employees who work in the Oculus Studios Unit of the Division, which develops games and reality VR and AR content for the Meta’s Quest VR headphones, a company spokesman said to CNBC.

“Some teams within Oculus Studios are experiencing changes in the structure and roles that have affected the size of the equipment,” said the spokesman. “These changes are destined to help studies work more efficiently in future mixed reality experiences for our growing audience, while offering great content for people today.”

The employees who work in the Supernatural VR training application were affected, said the spokesman.

“We are deeply sad to share that the thesis has resulted in the loss of some incredible talented team members,” said the company in a statement published in the supernatural official Facebook group. “His contributions have been fundamental to shape Ourney and his own, and his absence will feel deeply.”

The cuts to the laboratories of reality occur after the target in February dismissed 5% of its general workforce that considers its best results.

The Meta Reality Laboratories Division registered an operational loss of $ 4.97 billion while obtaining $ 1.1 billion in the duration of sales the fourth quarter, the company said in January.

The Social Network Company reports profits on Wednesday.

The Verge reported the layoffs on Thursday.
