India imposed the port restrictions of Saturday to the importation of certain goods, such as readmade garments and processed foods, of Bangladesh.

The General Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce, has issued a notification in this regard.

The notification limits “the port restrictions in the importation of certain goods, such as readmized garments, processed foods, etc., from Bangladesh to India,” said the ministry.

However, such port restrictions will not apply to Bangladesh’s assets that travel through India, but allocate to Nepal and Bután, he added.
