Naomi Lang and Ross Gollan win UK long-course fell titles

The Stùc a ‘Chroin Hill Race in Strathyre in Scotland on May 3 was the host of the national champions

Ross Gollan, from the East Sutherland Athletics Club and Naomi Lang of the Careshy Hill Racing Club, came out victorious in the Largo course race of Uka British Fell and Hill Championship held in the Stùc course to ‘Chroin on Saturday.

It was a sunny day and perfect conditions for the 349 runners who boarded the 22.5 km route with 1500 meters of climbing.

The race begins in the town of Strathyre on Lake Lomond and Trossachs National Park and climbs a pendant just below Meaell Mor before a strong decrease in Glen broad. Then, the course rises abruptly to Each one (813m), then follows a undulating crest to the upper part of the Stùc to ‘Chroin (975m) before descending Glen again. There is a last steep climb on Col Col and then the long descent of Strathyre.

In the male race, Gollan Tok, the victory with a record of the course of 2:04:21, but Finlay Grant of Dark Peak, who was only a few seconds, at 2:04:38. Ewan Brown or Corsorphine AAC Tok Bronze (2:05:46).
