On Wednesday’s “MS NOW Reports,” The Atlantic co-host and staff writer Jonathan Lemire said some of the fraud investigations in Minnesota “actually began during the Biden administration.” But “it also seems like this is a time where… a lot of bad headlines surrounding this White House are desperate to change the subject.” And the issue has “become a very, very political issue.”
Lemire said: “[T]This has become a very, very political issue. Now, first of all, some of these investigations in Minnesota actually began during the Biden administration. So, that was a Democratic administration. Certainly, there are [are] “There is concern that the way the focus has been on the Somali immigrant population (very large in Minnesota) will be used to reinforce some of this administration’s harsher rhetoric on deportations.”
He continued: “And it also seems like this is a time when… a lot of negative headlines are surrounding this White House, and they’re desperate to change the subject. And we’ve seen Vice President Vance and others repeatedly harp on this issue in recent days.”
