TAPMI adopts trimester system for MBA (International Business) programme

The TA PAI Institute (TapMI) based in Manipal has restructured its MBA program (international businesses). From lot 2025-27, the program will adopt an academic calendar based on quarter, replacing the structure of the existing semester.

A media statement said that this change is part of an initiative to optimize the MBA (IB) program with the other MBA offers of Tapmi, fostering greater academic synergy and operational efficiency.

The renewed curriculum is designed to reflect contemporary global commercial needs with a greater approach to international trade and politics, foreign language domain, global finances and intercultural management, export amounts and geopolitical operations.

When aligning with the trimester format used in the other MBA programs in Tapmi, students will benefit from standardized academic cycles, shared learning experiences and improvements opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

One of the improvements that the quarter system provides is greater flexibility in the development of the curriculum, the timely update and the adoption of the most appropriate pedagogy, ensuring that learning experiences the relevant, dynamic and aligned industry. This aims to strengthen the students’ domain experience and at the same time expand their professional perspectives, according to the statement.

Gururaj Kidiyoor, Dean (academics), Tapmi, said that the new MBA (IB) based on quarter creates a more flexible and globally competitive environment for our students. “By rationalizing with our other programs and expanding elective options, we are preparing students for broader and diverse roles in international businesses,” he said.

Rajev Kumra, director of Tapmi, said: “This strategic renewal ensures that our graduates are not only well versed in fundamental commercial principles, but also agile and competent professionals worldwide ready to assume roles in multinational organizations.”
