The Ethereum Foundation, the non -profit organization that supports development in the Ethereum block chain, distributed $ 32.6 million in subsidies in the first quarter of 2025.
In an allocation update, the organization reported expenses in various initiatives through its ecosystem support program (ESP).
The categories included community and educational subsidies, zero knowledge and cryptography. Other assignments included execution layers, experience and tools for developers, layer 2 networks and growth and general support of the ecosystem.
Ethereum Foundation focuses on education and community
Of the 101 subsidies granted, 32 were on initiatives focused on the community and education. The recipients included creators of educational content, conferences organizers, bootcamps and hackatones such as Ethprague and Ethiopia.
Sixteen projects focused on improving the experience and developer tools. The beneficiaries included projects focused on the creation of software development kits (SDK), construction analysis and validator tools.
Several projects addressed the accessibility of the proposal for the improvement of Ethereum (EIP), the Ecosystem tol and the Language Support Libraries.
In addition, 14 subsidies were granted to projects in the category of cryptography and zero knowledge tests (ZK-Proofs). These projects focused on developing cryptography techniques, building ZK proof technology and research and cryptography after quanto.
Meanwhile, seven subsidy beneficiaries focus on execution layer projects, while another seven focus on the consensus layer. Nine subsidies beneficiaries focused on protocol, general growth and support.
Another 13 additional subsidies fell under one “other” category, which covers areas that include decentralized finances, DAPPS, Stablecoin infrastructure and business development.
