The British star appeared on Running Wild With Bear Grylls back in June where she disclosed details of a press trip where a reporter criticised her appearance in a room full of people.
Headey shared, “You have to do these things for all the awards and everything; where loads of people interview you. I went in… seven months pregnant. There was a whole room of journalists and out of nowhere, this guy stood up and said, ‘Uh I just want to say that you’re really disappointing in real life’.”

The actor, who is a brunette, divulged how the journalist went on to say that she looked better wearing a blonde wig in character as Cersei Lannister. “‘Is that your real hair? he had asked, to which I responded yes and he said ‘The wig is much better. I like you as a blonde.’ and I was like, ‘Okay.’ I was just crushed. How is that alright to say?”
This incident comes after Lola Kirke from the show Mistress America reacted to a review describing her looks in film Gemini as “hardly flattering.” Upon reading the New Yorker review, Kirke stated that she felt “ashamed of herself” and was left questioning her own beauty.
Headey, who has been Emmy-nominated for her portrayal of Lannister, is currently filming scenes for the final season of Game of Thrones. It is expected to release in mid 2019.
