Automotive parts supplier Amaneos, part of German private equity firm Mutares, has finalized the purchase of Canadian automotive supplier Magna’s European automotive lighting operations.
The acquired unit will become part of Amaneos’ Light Mobility Solutions (LMS) subsidiary.
The deal completes a deal first announced in April, when Mutares said it would acquire two Magna supplier companies to bolster Amaneos and HiLo Group.
Mutares said the purchase fits with its strategy of supporting structural growth across all of its portfolio companies, with an emphasis on expansion in the United States and Europe, as well as pursuing significant exit opportunities.
The acquired company recorded revenues of approximately €200 million ($227.9 million) in 2025 and has a workforce of around 1,500 people.
Its product range encompasses rear, front and decorative lighting, along with illuminated panel and grille systems built using LED, OLED, micro/mini-LED and ADB matrix technology.
The agreement covers two manufacturing plants, located in Moncalieri, Italy, and Kostrzyn nad Odrą, Poland, as well as engineering centers in Rivoli, Italy and Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Amaneos said it plans to combine Magna’s front and rear lighting technology with LMS’ exterior panel offerings, moving from supplying stand-alone components to delivering more complex technology-based modules.
The company said this change is expected to provide OEMs with greater functionality, more design flexibility and fewer interface-related complications.
He added that bringing together R&D, procurement and production capabilities should help innovation and drive operational efficiency.
Magna announced in April that it would divest its lighting and ceiling systems divisions in three separate deals, as part of a broader restructuring of its Power & Vision segment.
The two units combined reported global revenues of around $1.1 billion in 2025, comprising approximately $1 billion from lighting and $100 million from roofing systems, with sales structured on a regional basis.
