Briana Cavallini is VP Brand at Chāmpo – an Ayurvedic hair care brand that specialises in high-performance, natural products.

The UK-based company, which launched in 2019 by founder and CEO Kuldeep Knox, is claiming to be reimaging ancient Ayurvedic rituals for the modern beauty customer and has sold more than 1.5 million products.

The brand’s success comes at a time when Ayurvedic beauty has come to the fore, with the Indian practice becoming more mainstream in Europe.

Cavallini joined Chāmpo in 2020 and over the past five years has been working to establish the brand, focusing on marketing, sales and project control.

Below, she charts her career journey, her key duties at Chāmpo and shares the essential skills a cosmetics industry professional needs to posess to make it to the top.

My first job in the beauty industry was, and still is, at Chāmpo – a UK-based Ayurvedic-inspired luxury hair care brand.

I have been VP Brand at the company since 2020 and no two days have been the same, which is great for my ADHD brain.

Because Chāmpo has such a strong visual identity, my role serving as the guardian to protect it across all touchpoints is really fundamental.

It spreads me across all areas of the business, from the more obvious corners like social media strategy, brand partnerships and tone of voice, through to product packaging, NPD roadmaps, and even which retailers we stock with and why.
