The 5000m Olympic champion says that “he has no reason to lie”, since prosecutors ask for a jail and a half term for his father

Jakob Ingebrigtsen told a court in Norway this week that he considers that it is “muddy to be a victim of domestic violence.”

The 24 -year -old retention was talking on the last day of his father’s trial and former coach, Gjart.

Prosecutors have recommended that Gjart receive a sentence in the prison of two and a half years to abuse Jakob and verbally to Jakob and his younger sister, Ingrid, the legal team of Althegh Gjart has presented an accessory.

“It’s shameful to be a victim or domestic violence,” Jakob said. “I know what I have experienced with the defendant since he was a small child and I have not had reasons to lie. It is shameful to be a victim for our family and does not fit the image he has or in his boggage.

He added: “For me and my brothers, the judicial processes in Sandnes have had important and heartbreaking contes, regardless of the verdict. We have known this all the time, but I was importing to tell our story.”

Citing the situation of others, he said: “Many children experience similar challenges for those we have talked about. Many have it worse. I sincerely hope that they do not forget when the cameras goes out in the district court.

“There is many of them one leg and, of course, I have noticed that the trial has dominated the headlines of the newspapers every day. It has a great bone a bone and some would have liked to have avoided. At the time of the SEWE, it was that it should be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be an advertising.

“I feel a great feeling of relief now that I don’t have to hide anything.

“However, one thing has not changed: I still do not want to answer questions from the press about this case. My story has been explained thoroughly. In my hand, my little prayer and appeal to all of you, journalists, Whoest, instead, use the power that should mention those who really need to mention.

“Ask instead how we can help all those children who are not well. Those who are not in a position to continue their lives. Not everyone can flee from their problems, as I have done.”

A verdict is expected on June 16.
