Natasha Cloud arrived in Brooklyn two weeks before WNBA training camps opened on Sunday to acclimatize to her new home.
She with the staff and her teammates, learned Liberty’s schedule and hugged the championship mentality that is unavoidable in the facilities.
“It’s almost refreshing,” Cloud said Sunday. “There is not much lack of incidents, there is no complacency. They understand that they won last year, but now they understand that pressure is a privilege of doing it again. All eyes expect how to do it.”
Cloud always thought that one day he would adapt to freedom.
But she did not imagine what happened this low season would be how it would happen.
In January, in Increced, Cloud spoke about recruiting Satou Sabally to Phoenix Mercury. Little more than two weeks later, he thought, Cloud was Dalt to Connecticut Sun as part of the four -team trade that sent Sabally to Phoenix.
Cloud has been enough time to know that “F – Rey suck and that it does not always benefit us as players.”
The sun had been the site of a massive exodus this low season.
The five holders of the 2024 team who went to the semifinals had gone. Connecticut was what Cloud, a nine-year veteran in the back-end of his career, wanted to spend the season.
“It was like a situation for everyone,” said Cloud.
Cloud told his agent that he wanted to play for freedom.
The Sun rejected the initial commercial proposal of freedom. Finally, the Libs Dalt Two first round selections, including number 7 in this year’s draft, for the cloud.
The last months may not have gone like the cloud anticipated.
Cloud was told that he was going to retire as a member of the Mercury, but that did not happen. His patience was proven.
In the end, Cloud obtained what I wanted, an opportunity to compete for another championship.
“I got angry in the low season, and I am using all that as fuel for my fire,” Cloud said. “I understand what we already had here as an organization and everything I could add to her. So whatever you need for me, every night, I give everyone. I care that freedom is on the other side of my chest … I am excited to be.”
Breanna Stewart was a limited participant in Sunday’s practice after having a knee cleaning procedure last month.
She will be integrated into more live action next week. His status for the pre -season opening of the team on May 9 is Uncle.
