Few women will be surprised to know that even when the wives earn almost the same as their husbands or more, a new study of the Pew Research Center discovers that they still spend more time in domestic tasks and child care, while their spouses spend more work and put work and LEP. Work and LEP. Work and LEP. Work and LEP. I work and him

“Just as financial contributions have become more equal in the Marias, the way in which couples divide their time between the paid work and life at home remain unbalanced,” Pew said.

So who is praying what?

Pew discovered that in 29% of today’s heterosexual brows, women and men earn approximately the same (approximately $ 60,000 each). “The husbands in egalitarian marriages spend approximately 3.5 hours more a week in leisure activities than wives.

In 55% of the opposite mariagos, men are the main or only support of the family, winning a median of $ 96,000 to the $ 30,000 of their wives.

Meanwhile, in 16%of the Marias, the wives exceed their husbands as the main (10%) or the only support of the family (6%). In the Marrias, women earn a median or $ 88,000 to $ 35,000 of their husbands.

Or all these categories, the only one in which it is reported that men spend more time than their wives is when the woman is the only fastener. And time a week in household chores in those Marias is uniformly divided between husbands and wives.

In all cases, it is a great change of 50 years ago, when, for example, husbands were the main support in 85% of sailors.

Today, which are women with the most likely to be the main or unique supporters can vary according to age, family status, education and race.

For example, Pew discovered that black women are “significantly more likely” than other women to gain more than their Hus bands. For example, 26% of black women bring home more than their husbands, while only 17% of white women and 13% of Hispanic women do so.

But black women with a university or superior title and few children at home are also the most likely to win almost the same as their husbands.

These numbers are reported in a context of society’s attitudes on who should earn more and how care should be divided between spouses.

Almost half of the Americans (48%) in the PEW survey said the spouses prefer to win more than their wives, while 13% said men would make their wives win almost the same as them.

What do women want? Twenty -two percent of Americans said that most women because a husband who earns more, while 26% said most would because a man who earns almost the same.

Meanwhile, when it comes to having a family, 77% said children are better when both parents focus on their work and take care of children. Only 19% said children are better when their mother focuses more on home life and their father focuses more on their work.

The PEW study is based on three data sources: Profit data of the current Population Survey of the US Census.; Data from the American time use survey and a national survey of public attitudes representatives between 5,152 American adults conducted in January.
