Jetblue no longer sees a future in Miami, dropping the hot spot of Florida from his route map as part of a broader effort to reduce to profitability.
The carrier based in New York will end the service to the Miami International Airport (MIA) on September 3 and will transfer its flights to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea) at the summer season service on October 25, they program data from the Cirium Aviation Analysis firm. The complete cuts of Jetblue, according to the Cirio, include:

A Jetblue spokesman confirmed the changes and said they are part of his current program to “make adjustments regularly align to fly with demand and support our growth strategy.”
In early June, Jetblue’s executive director Joanna Geraghty told staff in a memorandum that the airline would reduce low performance routes and parking planes in an effort to reduce success and return to profitability.
“We have hopes, demand and reserves recover, but only a recovery will not completely compensate for the land we have lost this year and our paths to profitability will take longer than we expected,” he said.
Most American airlines have reported weakness in national economic classroom trips. That disproportionately affects airlines that mainly serve those travelers, including Frontier Airlines, Jetblue and Southwest Airlines.
At the same time, premium and international trips have remained robust. Geraghty told staff in the same memorandum that Jetblue continued his investments in premium offers, including a national first -class cabin and his first airport halls. The airline is also advancing with its new loyalty association with United Airlines.

Jetblue executives have also said that the airline’s transatlantic flights are working very well.
The airline added Miami in 2021 as part of a coronavirus pandemic effort to expand to new markets. Jetblue initially served Bos, Los Angeles International Airport (Lax), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), JFK and later the Bradley International Airport (BDL) of Hartford de Mia.
