10 cheaper digital nomadic destinations

As a full -time global explorer, I am the last 3 years visiting some of the best digital nomadic destinations. These are the best I’ve found so far and also some that are still on my list to visit.

Are you ready to be your own boss, make your own hours, travel as much as you want? See our free master class to know the 3 simple steps to start your own remote business and move from one idea to another.

1. Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai is one of the most popular digital nomadic destinations in Southeast Asia, thanks to its affordability and excellent infrastructure. Located in northern Thailand, you will find a relaxed rhythm of life mixed with a lot of modern convenient.

Life costs are seriously low, with apartments that begin in around $ 200 per month and street food meals that cost less than $ 2. There are numerous excellent coworking spaces, ideal for establishing remote contacts and jobs, including Punspace and Hub 53.

But Chiang Mai’s appeal extends its affordability. The impressive temples, the impressive mountains and through the community of expatriates make it the perfect place to balance work and leisure. Read here to get the best things to do your inactivity time in Chiang Mai.

2. Podgorica, Montenegro

After 3 years of traveling full time, I am or have jumped “Where is the best place you have visited?” It is a difficult question, but Montenegro always occupies a prominent place in my answer. I loved my time there and I will get excited about anyone who listens.

In addition to being a very affordable place to live, the small nation is accessible in its entirety within a few hours of the capital, podgorica. It is perfectly located with excellent beaches of a few hours in the direction, and the mountains and ski slopes a few hours in the other.

The city itself is a modern destination and well developed with a lot of sacrifice to enjoy digital nomads. The decent and reliable Wi -Fi is available everywhere, only in public areas, and coffee culture, the scene of wine and nightlife are fantastic.

3. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

I spent a month from the house sitting in the city of Ho Chi Minh, and his son became one of my favorite and affordable nomadic digital destinations. This city oozes a surprising contrast where traditional Vietnamese culture meets ultra modern businesses and comforts.

It is one of the most affordable cities that I have visited, where meals in local restaurants cost only $ 1 – $ 3 and are common and delicious. Transport is simple, with grip walks that cost a few dollars and the cheap bus option to take it to any place where you need to go.

If you are considering the city of Ho Chi Minh, see these previous publications for my advice on the best coworking spaces and take advantage of your time with the best things to do in the city.

4. Bali, Indonesia

Duration My two -month stay in Bali, I reserved an Airbnb apartment in Kuta Beach and used it as a basis for exploring the island on weekends. The impressive landscape of Bali, the beautiful beaches and the low general costs make it a dream destination for digital nomads.

My favorite trips went to Canggu and Ubud, where it is easy to ensure private accommodation at sites such as Airbnb and Booking.com for only $ 300/month, or less than $ 30 per weekend. Warungs (local restaurants) serve meals for $ 2– $ 4.

Bali is more than an affordable digital nomadic destination: it is a paradise for surfers, yogis and cultural enthusiasts. Check out my Bali travel guide for more information.

5. Budapest, Hungary

My husband and I last the day of costumes in the preschool.

I write this as I am about to address a flight to Budapest. I spent two months there in 2023, balancing digital nomadic work with a work teaching in a preschool Montessori, and I can certify that it is one of the most affordable and beautiful capitals in Europe.

In addition to the abundance of teaching opportunities that can support their food accommodation and budget, the apartments cost $ 450 to $ 650 per month. Public transport is efficient and cheap, while having dinner and drinking is very affordable.

Budapest is also incredible for visitors: my husband and I had three separate visits of friends and family of his house in the United Kingdom duration of our stay. I am very excited to return for a long weekend!

6. Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon sacrifices digital nomads the best of Europe, the price of meaning associated with many western capitals. With its colorful neighborhoods, a sunny climate throughout the year and an affordable cost of living, it is not surprising that Lisbon is on this list.

In addition, Portugal sacrifices a passive income visa, officer called Visa D7, allowing remote workers to live and work there. To qualify, applicants must prove a constant annual passive income of around $ 9,000. Click here for more information.

The visa also provides a residence route, which makes it ideal for digital nomads that seek to base issues in Lisbon, or Europe in general, more permanently. The cultural scene and the impressive beaches of Lisbon make it a dream destination.

7. Tbilisi, Georgia

Tbilisi might not be on the radar for many digital nomads, but I feel that it should definitely be! Combining Eastern Europe’s charm with an incredible low cost of living, Georgia’s liberal visa policies make it a fantastic choice for long -term stays.

With the fabulous summer climate and winters that are rarely submerged below the freezing, one third of the country’s population (1.2 million) lives in Tbilisi. The accommodation is cheap in the Georgian capital, renting an apartment can cost as little as $ 400 per month.

The impressive architecture of Old Town is perfectly combined with a growing technological scene, which makes Tbilisi an emerging place as a digital place Nomad Hot.

8. Medellín, Colombia

Medellín is a great option for digital nomads with its cozy climate throughout the year and surprisingly low cost of living for such a dynamic city. The transformation of its problematic past to a prosperous cultural and technological center is remarkable.

The apartments in popular neighborhoods such as Laureles or the town cost between $ 400 and $ 600 months, while the meals of the local restaurants are usually around $ 5. For coworking places, see Selina or Tinkko to obtain excellent but affordable Hot offices.

The beautiful views of the city mountain, an efficient subway system and an animated social scene make it an exciting but practical option. Working in English work is also popular in Medellín, so consider the will to ensure free accommodation.

9. Mexico City, Mexico

I just spent a few weeks working remotely in Mexico City, but it seemed like an electric and motivating place to rely as a digital nomad. The city is massive, and the many different districts provide a variety of culture, fun and facilities for work.

Being a great metropolis, certain areas can feel quite elegant, but the intense bill you expect never arrives. I went to lunch and dinner every day, enjoying everything from local street food to high -end restaurants, it was always delicious and affordable!

Crossing the city is the only inconvenience that I found founding my stay; Traffic is among the craziest I’ve seen on my trips so far. But, if it would rely centrally on the Countess or Granada, most things are passable or connected by the efficient subway.

10. Bansko, Bulgaria

A place that recently caught my attention is Bansko. Based on a few hours south of the Sofia Bulgaran Capital, this city is a remote work point and one of the cheapest digital destinations in Nomad in Europe. I recently requested a 6 -week house to sit there.

Located next to the Pirin mountains, Bansko combines outdoor adventure with productivity, so it is an ideal place for remote workers looking for balance. Monthly life costs are low, with accommodation, hot food and desks often for less than $ 1,000.

The relaxed rhythm of life, combined with reliable Internet, excellent coworking spaces and economic services, Bansko, an attractive destination for digital nomads that seek affordability without sacrificing the quality of life.

In conclusion

Explore this list of cheaper digital nomadic destinations will surely open doors to satisfactory and affordable adventures. Whether you are attracted to the culture of Southeast Asia, the charm of Eastern Europe or the vitality of Latin America, embrace the exploration.

Choose one of these destinations and will quickly discover to what extent your budget can carry it. Adventure, lifelong memories, productivity and inspiration expect in the most affordable nomadic centers in the world!
