During the war, the R&D Defense Directorate of R&D (DDR & D) (MAFAT), the Israel Air Force and Rafael Advanced Defense systems have led an accelerated development process to operate new laser interception systems, in which IDFs have intercepted dozens of enemy threats, including drones, the Ministry of Defense has revealed.
Laser systems are an additional defense layer for energy weapons systems that are being developed in the Ministry of Defense. The iron beam system is currently being developed and it is expected to be delivered to the IDF and officially enter the operations in the last quarter of 2025. Duration of the war, the Israel Air Force, including combat planes, have deployed the head systems in Fieldtecett, have saved civilian life and protected national assets.
