Rory McIlroy noted distance challenge at Truist Championship in Philly Crricket Club

The theme of distance is complicated in the world of current golf.

Professionals are so talented, so athletic, so strong and have access to all types of training material on the equipment that are overwhelming golf courses that for a long time have resisted the test of time. This feels fair and objective without inciting any disturbance.

It is when you go beyond this surface level that the debates work rampant. Talking about the things back has been happening forever and it seems that the future of golf has some doubts in this area (it has several questions in several areas of its future to be clear).

Consider what the champion of the teachers Rory Mcilroy said on Wednesday about the next truth championship at the Philly Cricket Club.

Rory Mcilroy at the Philly Cricket Club: “I just realized that these new renewed courses of the old school, as the strategy is just a driver everywhere and then discover it from there.” pic.twitter.com/xfq60jwk7c

– Cameron Jourdan (@cam_jourdan) May 7, 2025

Mcilroy is also the current winner of the trusted championship, but won the event in Quail Hollow, where it traditionally takes place. The PGA Tour will be the host of the place at the Philly Cricket Club this week, its first event in Philadelphia since 2018, because the PGA championship of the PGA of Quail Hollow is due to Quail Hollow.

Mcilroy’s strategy (which speaks loose) is fair. Bombard as much as you can and trust your game to rescue yourself also. But this is not viable or sustainable for golf sport in general.

Consider that we are going for a week in which Scottie Scheffler won the CJ Cup with a PAR 31Ste score. These are clearly the best players in the world, but this is a domain level that is not good for the game and its long term.

Most in the field of truth, it is likely that a signature event can follow the “advice” offered by Mcilroy. We could be looking at another incredible low score of the possible winner.

The world of golf is never predictable, thought. We’ll see!
