In today’s publication, I am sharing my favorite things about our closed concept house.4 reasons why I love our closed concept house

I love having a closed concept at home.

For me, a closed concept house means that (in most cases) there is no direct view from a main vital space to the next.
The Romans are separated by a wall, a door or an arc. In our house, while there is a view from the entrance to the living room, most of our main living room separated from the ethers.

They often ask me about the disadvantages of life without the direct vision lines that tend to come with houses built in the last twenty years. In my experience, there are many more reasons to love living in a closed concept home than they don’t like. In truth, the only times that gave a slightly more open concept design is when I am at the kitchen dinner. When we organize, sometimes I get Fomo and I don’t want to lose anything with our guests. To counteract this, I invite people to come to chat with me while cooking.

In today’s publication, I am sharing my favorite things about our closed concept house.

4 reasons why I love our closed concept house

1. The disorder are more easily contained.

A bride recently reminded me of what happened the first time I ended up dinner. I let the dogs at the back door, covered with mud, and a disaster quickly occurred. I closed the doors between the kitchen and the rest of the house to contain the disaster, clean everything and then returned to the party quite fast. It was something that had become accustomed to me, I didn’t think twice! It wasn’t until I mentioned it that I realized how useful the lifestyle design of our family is.

When we have finished people, it is also still a last -minute cleaning and to set up a general sense of order, since things do not extend from one room to another.

2. It is easier to have time alone.

Now that children are getting old, we can let them play independently, and Joe and I can have a time alone in a separate space. Having the Roman divided helps to facilitate this, and I treasure the time only that I can happen in an occupied life.

It should be noted that we live in a home larger than before. This means that, naturally, there is more space to spend time separately. However, we tend to use half of the house more frequently when it is only our immediate family, so the closed concept floor plane definitely still helps provide some separation.

3. I can design each room individually.

When you are designing within an open concept plant plane, you are building the design around a cohesive scheme. You need a little ability to discover how to do it. With our closed concept spaces, it feels as if each room can have its own personality.

While I will consider the general colored palette of the house when I am designing a given room, I do not feel the need to be too tied to it. This caused the process of experimenting with rooms in our main areas of life is especially fun. You can see the individual personality of different spaces in Roman such as the Blue Library/Office and the Green Family Room.

4. Encourage our family to try different activities.

I know from experience that when you have a big big room with a TV, it is easier to place yourself in your routines. When it comes to inactivity time, this OFS includes the TV. In this house, with separate spaces without television, we are attracted to do different activities. Children will read when they are working in the office, we will play in the living room and make crafts on the island of the kitchen.
