After praying with the man, the attacker stabbed the victim about 50 times before turning the scene. The body was found later in the morning, when other worships reached the mosque for Friday’s prayers.

The suspect, who has bone identified only as Olivier, born in France in 2004 and unemployed, without criminal record, is “potentially extremely dangerous” and is “essential” judgment that claims more victims.

The great Mosque of Paris condemned the attack in a statement and said that the victim had just cleaned the mosque when he was killed.

He asked the authorities to quickly shed light on the reasons behind the attack, asking the judicial authorities to say if he is being treated as a “terrorist” law and noticed their “scale and serious … for everyone’s security.”

“Racism and hate based on religion cannot take place in France. Freedom of worship cannot be violated,” President Emmanuel Macron wrote on Sunday in his first comments on the murder, exciting his support for “our fellow Muslim citizens.”

Justice Minister Gerald Daranin denounced on Saturday the “despicable murder” that “hurts the hearts of all believers, or all Muslims in France.”

“We are shoulder with the shoulder with the victim’s family and the shocking worshipers,” he said. “State resources are mobilized to ensure that the murderer is caught and punished.”

Interior Minister Bruno Retaillean announced Sunday that he would travel to Grand-Combe.

Sos’s racism campaign group said he would participate in a “against Islamophobia” march later organized on Sunday at the Grand-Combe.
