A Russian air attack against the capital of Ukraine, kyiv, killed at least five people and wounded others, according to Ukraine emergency services.

Drones and missiles reached residential areas, hospitals and sports infrastructure in numerous kyiv districts in the early hours of Monday, authorities said.

The most severe damage took place in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where a section of a block of five -story floors collapsed.

Five people were confirmed killed in the attack on the building, while another 10, including a pregnant woman, have been rescued from a close tower block that also suffered great damage.

In another part of Ukraine, another person died and eight injured in the city of Bila Tserkva, about 85 km (53 miles) southwest of the capital.

There were no immediate comments from Russia, which launched a large -scale invasion of neighboring Ukraine in February 2022. It has deliberately addressed civilians, but thousands have killed and wounded since the war.
