The head of Hamas in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, accused Israel in a video statement on Sunday of violating the October ceasefire agreement.
“In the wake of continued violations by Israel, including the latest killing of a Hamas commander yesterday, we call on the mediators and especially the US administration and US President Donald Trump, as the main guarantor of the agreement, to force Israel to respect the ceasefire agreement and implement it,” he said.
Since the ceasefire began in October, Israel has continued to attack Gaza daily – nearly 800 times, killing at least 386 people – in clear breach of the agreement, according to Gaza authorities.
