LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH 5km, Hyde Park, London, May 30

In warm and breezy conditions South of England under-17 3000m champion Max Sanderson dominated the men’s race, however the conditions meant he was half a minute down on his winning time in the same race last year, Steve Smythe reports.

Brentwood Beagles not only provided the men’s winner as the women’s race was won by 13-year-old Summer Smith as she finished just behind under-13 clubmate Max Harrison in fourth.

She missed Olivia Forrest’s under-15 course record by 10 seconds with a time of 16:48.

Another under-15 Isabella Harrison was second woman home, with Forrest, now an under-17 in third.

Brentwood Beagles had four of the top five women with Inter Counties Under-13 champion Madison Kindler fifth in 18:09.

World Masters 10km champion Ron Cattle set a M75 course record of 21:30 which is also a UK leading time for 2025.
