How to choose your cabin so your cruise isn’t ruined

The rhythm continuesNight regretsLessons learnedEnd

The blow of the bass of music on the floor of our Disney Wish cabin, 6558, was getting under my skin like nails on a blackboard. It was 11:30 pm, and we had to be awake at 6:30 am the next day. When could we sleep as if thousands of other passengers in Wish were doing at the same time?

Earlier that night, we had enjoyed dinner and live music at the Nightingale Bar Piano on cover 3. We headed to our cabin three mallets around 10:30 pm to prepare for a night of sleep. However, as soon as we entered our room, we hear that the loud noise reverberated. Determined not letting our plans to sleep, we get into bed and close our eyes.

But instead of counting sheep, I was counting the minutes until the blows stopped potentially.

The rhythm continues

When 11:30 became 11:45 pm, music was still strengthening. I put caps for the ears that I always travel with “just in case” for times like this. They did not do the trick. “This has to end at midnight,” I thought. There was no way that such disruptive music could continue with that time on a Disney Cruise Line ship, right? Mistaken.

The rhythms we listen to in our room were like the second hand of a clock marking. I thought I gave the cruise line the benefit of the doubt, I told myself, and my husband, that when the clock hit midnight, if there was no fairy godmother closing the party, I was going to do something about it. As the discomfort continued, I looked at the ship’s map in my DCL Navigator application and realized that our room was just above.

Luna is an on -board place that, without us knowing, becoming a nightclub some nights. As bad as you had it, this was one of those nights. We longed for an event when it was a silent disco party. Unfortunately, wishes (without words play) are not changes.

Night regrets

Disney Wish Luna. Disney

Midnight arrived, and looked at my husband, whose head was on the pillow next to mine, and I whispered to see if I was awake. Hey was. I turned the night light, and with just one look at each other, I knew we agreed that it was time to take action. I said: “This is crazy, I call guest services.”

A friendly woman answered the phone. I quietly explained how noise was affecting our night, which made it impossible to sleep. I shared that on a normal night, this would be annoying, but in this particular event, frustration was magnified due to the early time we had to climb the next day, in just a few hours. I also told him that I realized that we located on Luna, and the schedule showed that there was a dance party only for adults.

To my surprise, she did not sacrifice to change our room until I suggested it as a resolution. It is not that changing rooms that include packing all our belongings to make the change and change pajamas in clothing ready for the living room, at that time it was our preference. Midnight was very past. But we thought it was our best option because music was scheduled to continue at least another 45 minutes.

He found another cabin for us to move, but not without pointing out that it was his “pleasure” to update.

We packed our things, and a team member climbed the stairs with a cart to help us move. When we arrive at our new location, this time not above any of the public places of the ship, we could enter the bed quick enough to go to the attempt no. 2 In the dream of that event.

Nothing of notification on the room that is not to be on a higher deck was updated, which is not the preference of each cruise, including us, for voluntary reasons. The guest services sent corn popslaps in bags and a sweet gift to our new room the next day as an olive branch, what we appreciate; We option to let the experience be a moment of teaching and make us better travelers, not bitter.

Lessons learned

Disney wishes Camarote. Disney

We were the least wise cruise than the accident. As two adults travel without children, and certainly without teenagers, we find that our Ileves wonder if the ship should be a curfew or, at least, calm hours after 11 pm

I thought we did not rest well the next morning as we had planned, we were still relieved. Thanks to the room switch, our bedtime routine for the rest of the cruise was much less agitated than the night before our excursion.

It was our first time in Disney Wish, he thought that he certainly not our first time on a cruise. We had also sailed in almost any other ship of the Disney cruise line before Wish debut. However, I would never think that the blows of a nightclub would be a problem in the most friendly cruise line for children. That is, until we were in a room on a nightclub and we realized that we would never make that mistake by selecting our cabin again.

Never because to enjoy anyone’s vacation or be the travelers who complain; That is not us. I am sure that the party passengers that night were having a great time, since their DCL trip should last.

We are generally jovial cruises and we make lemons every time travel mishaps occur, which happens with trips. However, we were very surprised by the situation of the king this particular cruise. We simply wanted to sleep in the comfort of our cabin at our desired time (and relatively late!), But it is better to learn a tough lesson and grow from it. From now on, we will make our diligence on the locations of our cabins and the entertainment places close a little better and let our cabin choice report.

End

Now we avoid this enigma completely. Every time we chose a cabin on a cruise, we always check the roof plan on our favorite room and the cover plan below to ensure that only other cabins smelled from above and down. We learned this lesson in the difficult way so that I do not have to do it, because ultimately, sleep time and dance time must remain separate, especially when you are not the one who dances.
