The world of international team’s golf team had the time of Tuesday.
The early hours of Tuesday it was announced that Paula Creamer would serve as an assistant captain in the American staff of Angela Stanford for the Solheim 2026 Cup. That makes sense.
Shortly after that, the Presidents Cup decided to announce Both or their captains for their event in 2026. Snedeker and Geoff Ogilvy will take their American and international teams, respectively, Medinah next September.
Brandt Snedaker when appointed American captain:
“It is a great honor to be appointed captain of the American team for the 2026 president Cup by my colleagues, and I am anxious to take our boys to Medinah so it will undoubtedly be an incredible week of golf,” said Snedeker. “Representing my country in team competition has been the highlight of my PGA Tour career, and I will rely on those experiences to ensure that we are prepared and ready to compete against against the against and the determined international team.”
Geoff Ogilvy when appointed captain of the international team:
“The Presidents Cup has been an important part of my career. I am honest to take the role of the captain of the International Cup for Presidents 2026 in the #3 course of Medinah Country Club, a place means a lot to me,” said Ogilvy. “Since Ernie Els debuted the shield in 2019, the spirit of the international team has intensified and grown as we have met around this symbol that embodies our shared love and unifies both the players and fans.
For the most part, the Presidents Cup has been an event dominated mainly by Americans. Ogilvy and the international group will have their work for the theme in Chicago next autumn.
